Former Vice President Al Gore got some flak last year for having a $1,200 a month electric bill and a $1049 a month gas bill for lighting and heating his Tennessee home after winning an Oscar for “An Inconvenient Truth.” The documentary concerns Gores global warming battle against greenhouse gases trapping heat next to the Earth, thus changing the climate and melting ice caps and more violent storms.
He took some actions to counter the flak by installing 33 solar panels and other renewable energy sources to green power his 70 year old home. Gore went to his neighborhood council, and they passed new zoning laws to offset the ones that previously prohibited the installation of solar panels.
